Green Smoothie

Green Smoothie: My 1st time so bare with me...
First time I tried to find more information on how to use smoothie at home through Pinterest. I got tired of going to Starbucks, Jamba Juice or any other places. I thought about it and why not try to make it at home since I have small blender.. I could make it with fruits and vegetables with it. As you can see the photo I posted on what I put in.. All the stuff I put in the blender, to my surprised, it worked. For the last few days my energy has increased, and my motivation as well. Long ago I danced and did put it aside to teach ASL. I used to weight 140 lbs. As I got older, I've gained to 160 lbs and size 6 to 8 or 10 (depending on brand). My doctor had to throw a fit about my weight and health included family. LOL.. I said to myself, no way.. I gotta get better and get fit. Past two weeks, I have lost from 160lbs to 150lbs.. since day 3: its getting there included doing the workout.. It works.. Its all about determination, motivation, have support system, and stay positive. Yes, I'm 38 and just turned on Aug 5th. If I can do it then you can do it.

San Francisco Adventure....

I had a grand time in SF and didn't relaized that there were alot of hills. When I went to walk up wiyh my sandels (yep I wore the wrong shoes), the first 15 min walk up to the hill I was already out of breath and definitely out of shape. I learned that i had to go two more hills to go up to a bar. I was amazed on how many people had to go through this and still survived through. It is called fitness.

Anyway the hotel I stayed at Hotel Nikko San Francisco had ao much to offer and I appreciated their service. They had a device for the deaf and hard of hearing. I was able to use it to wake me up. In addition, they provided a text number for you to communicate with the front desk.

When I was out and about, I  realized that I needed to ask the front deska questions. I was at a resturant at the time at Pier 39 which was 30 min away from where I was. I immediately texted the hotel about shuttle services, towels, and about the swimming pool. Thry repkied instantly. I felt that it was worth to spend that much money for that type of service.

Overall, the vacation was much needed and I was not thrilled to return back home.  I knew that I will be back to visit there.

Now, I am working on finding another trip to travel overseas. If anyone is thinking of going oversea, let me know. I would love to join but of course, it depends on the location.

Admitopia Education Company: Where students & school finds each other

Considering becoming a sign language teacher?
Feb. 28, 2015
*Want to read what others published and discussed about their career, education, college prepration and many more, go to the website and read more.
My name is Regina Daniels. My real life experience has many roller coaster during my BA program until I got accepted into a Ph.D. program at Argosy University. I started out in a dance program at the University of Maryland. Previously, I started out at Gallaudet University during my freshmen year and was recruited to join a dance company. Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. is mainly for deaf students and some hearing students. Gallaudet Dance Company taught me many things about dance academic programs outside of their school. When I looked into expanding my dance major, I decided I wanted to receive a BA in dance. University of Maryland in College Park, MD was available to me and I was accepted into their school. Columbia College Chicago accepted me into a MA Program for Performance Arts Management. While attending Columbia College, I joined a few dance companies to take classes and joined Jump Rhythm Jazz Project for a year. It was an amazing experience for me to work with them. I learned that dancing was not my only passion; I had another calling to teach ASL. I started to teach at Columbia College as a part time instructor and worked my way through to a full time position at California State University, Monterey Bay.
What made me become who I am today as an American Sign Language Instructor is that I believe that each student is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which the students can grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, and socially. It is my desire as an educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment for their growth. There are three elements that I believe are essential to establishing such an environment: a) being a teacher and a guide, b) developing and allowing students to explore their ability in learning, and c) promoting to respect of others.
A) By being a teacher and a guide, I will continue to introduce American Sign Language primarily. Students will have an opportunity for hands-on activities in the classroom such as teaching all of the goodies, having regular review quizzes, incorporating history and culture, modeling variations of signs, providing guided practice opportunities, giving students small group interaction time, and letting them ask whatever questions they have.
B) Developing a curriculum that will allow students to learn and speak Sign Language as well as teaching each other. The opportunity for students input is one way to learn and to generate ideas and goals. The curriculum would encourage students to master the skills and to reach their goals through the semester.
C) Understanding the desired sign language proficiency goal is probably one of the most important aspects of learning well for the deaf culture. Students will understand the history behind deaf culture. Students will have the opportunity to share new signs, and become aware of deaf language. American Sign Language has made steady gains in respectability, and is often the language of choice for those that were born or became deaf before learning English. Signed Exacted English (SEE) has more connection to English, though American Sign (ASL) is now used.
In addition, other than teaching American Sign Language at Columbia College, I had an opportunity to develop my abilities by working with Mr. Crom Saunders, Mr. Peter Cook, Dr. Jim Vanen, Ms. Diane Gorman, and Ms. Carly Flagg who are full time faculty at Columbia College. They gave me an opportunity to gain my skills in the real world that would allow me to use what I have learned through academics and teaching. I was able to apply them to develop my objectives, curriculum and strategies for my students. I strongly feel that my ambition in teaching is the most important key for the Teaching and Learning field and this will allow me to work as part of a team with my peers.
My goal is to increase the knowledge in Teaching and Learning for Education in College or University levels in ASL. Your program will give me a way to prepare to perform more effectively in leadership and mastering teaching in theory, developing curriculum and prepare the current educational practice.
Overall, my philosophy in teaching Education has made me efficient and successful. My goal is to contribute my knowledge and experience in Higher Education those who strive to learn. My interest in performing arts management has led me to sign up for several courses at the Columbia College Chicago and to pursue my doctorate degree at the Argosy University for Teaching and Learning.

Hello everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and looking for the new year 2015! I do hope that you all stay safe and warm. We can only hope for a new things and new changes in 2015.

As for me, on Dec. 5th- I've stopped drinking coffee and soda as well (soda- only when there is no caffeine). However, I drink less of these two. I've started to drink hot tea with honey or no honey, more water, orange juice, and sweet tea. All my life I've drank coffee since I was 18 years old when I was in college. What was the reason I stopped these things, my health was one of my wake-up call. I've had chest pain, irregular breathing and low energy for about a month or so. I have ignored these signs and thinking that it may be not enough rest, not enough water, or not enough nutrients in my system. About a year ago, I was told that I have anemic because of low iron. I have to maintain my eating to keep the iron in my system. Ashtma-like was one of the another alarm for me when I felt wheezing and all of the health issue I've been having for a month. It wasn't easy and I shouldn't ignore these signs. I started to pay attention to my eating, drinks, and my energy. One thing I do know that I need to get back into exercising.. Working out (dancing) is one of my favorite thing to do since growing up. I've stopped dancing and began teaching ASL or working for different companies in ASL (American Sign Language). I've taken on more teaching jobs more than getting back into dancing. In addition, I am working on completing my doctorate degree program. Yes, it is taking a long time and finding the right title for your dissertation and being able to provide all the details and proofs that these tools will be effective.

Overall, I am working on getting better with my health and staying healthy.  I do hope and pray that 2015 will be a better year for all of us and do well. I will continue to pray for everyone included myself. I am always grateful to have a wonderful family and friends, included loved one in my life. They have been there and support each other with tears and laughs. It is all about being happy and be who you are. Nothing else should matters as long you receive a phenomenal love from everyone included God. Stay Healthy!

Happy Holiday and Happy New Year 2015!

Blessed You!

Mind, Body, and Health Thoughts

If you could read and favorite this website, this would be a great way to read and understand about yourself. I have learned in a hard way for the past one year about myself. I learned more about who I am and what I can do to improve myself. After finding this link, http://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-13860/20-signs-its-time-to-let-go-move-on.html, I have come to realized that I do have fear in me and became very vulnerable person.

What hits me the most from the list are these:

2. When the situation causes you more pain than joy.
I held my breath and thought back about my past and my frustration. Pain have been constantly following me than feeling the joy.
7. When the situation is holding you back from growing and being who you want to be.- When it comes to make a decision about choosing a career, this is where I found myself doing.
10. When you feel exhausted emotionally, spirituality and physically. There are times I felt this way when I hold back or bite my tongue.
13. When you stop having fun. I became isolated and pushed away because I could not stand the idea of putting a mask over my face and smiled when deep inside, I am at lost.
Apparently the majority of these list I have noticed is fear, alone, confused, and unknown. Do you ever stop and wonder if any of these applied to you?
